Elizabeth James Tingen appointed Director to lead the new Amsterdam-based practice across the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg
Byfield Consultancy, the UK’s leading legal sector communications consultancy, has today launched Byfield Netherlands – a new Amsterdam-based office serving clients across the Benelux region and marking the firm’s first permanent presence in continental Europe.
The office is led by Elizabeth James Tingen, appointed as Director of Byfield Netherlands. Elizabeth brings more than a decade of experience advising law firms, legal sector businesses and public sector organisations on strategic communications, reputation management, disputes and investigations communications and public affairs. She has worked extensively across the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg and has been a longstanding partner of Byfield through the Mirovia international network of legal sector specialist communications agencies.
The launch reflects the growing importance of the Benelux region within the international legal market. The Netherlands has established itself as a significant centre for collective actions under the WAMCA regime (the Dutch law enabling collective claims for mass damages), while regulatory enforcement activity and cross-border commercial disputes continue to increase across the region. Demand from law firms and businesses for specialist communications advice spanning multiple jurisdictions has grown accordingly.
Byfield Netherlands will advise clients across strategic communications, disputes and investigations, crisis and issues management, class action campaign support and media relations, working in close coordination with Byfield’s London team and drawing on the firm’s established international media relationships and track record on complex, high-profile mandates.
Byfield Netherlands is a joint venture between Byfield Consultancy and Elizabeth James Tingen. The office is based in the centre of Amsterdam, within the Nine Streets of the Canals district.
