LONDON, 18 October 2023 – Byfield Consultancy, a market leading Legal Communications firm, has welcomed back Dina Hudson from Portland Communications who rejoins the business as a Senior Consultant in Litigation Communications. In a newly created role, Dina will focus on expanding Byfield’s disputes and investigations offered domestically and internationally, in response to the buoyant market and a number of new instructions for the agency.
Dina, a litigation communications specialist, is experienced in helping clients navigate class actions, judicial reviews, enforcement actions, and major commercial disputes in the High Court of England and Wales. She also has extensive understanding in managing the communications for clients with litigation heard in overseas courts, such as the European Court of Justice, European Court of Human Rights and European General Court.
Working closely with Gus Sellitto, Founder Director, and Michael Evans, Joint Managing Director at Byfield, who are both Chambers ranked specialists in litigation communications, Dina will be prioritising expansion in claimant and defendant-side class actions, commercial disputes, and international arbitration. Additionally, the dedicated investigations desk, which is being developed in response to the increasing demand, will support both companies and individuals involved in internal and external investigations. The new desk will help clients at the intersection of reputational challenges arising from contentious employment and regulatory investigations.
Byfield already benefits from a global, on-the-ground presence through its international network, MIROVIA, the international network of communications agencies offering litigation communications expertise in their local jurisdictions. Last year, MIROVIA launched a European Class Action desk to offer claimants and defendants in class actions a dedicated communications resource in response to this developing market brought on by the Collective Redress Directive.
Gus Sellitto, Founder Director at Byfield, said:
“We wanted to have a dedicated focus on developing our offering in litigation communications and it is fantastic to welcome Dina back to Byfield to help us do this, working alongside talented team members who have significant experience in this space. The disputes market continues to grow and evolve, and we are seeing an increasing demand for our services in the UK and internationally. We are also advising more clients on the reputation aspects of workplace investigations and this will be an increasing focus for us moving forward.
“We are all really keen to start working with Dina again – she has quickly developed into a first-rate litigation communications practitioner and her entrepreneurial outlook will be of great benefit to Byfield as we continue to develop this important part of our business.”
Commenting on her appointment, Dina also said:
“I am delighted to be returning to Byfield in this new role at an exciting time for both the business and the market. Clients are increasingly aware of the value of engaging with communications advisors when involved in disputes and investigations, to both protect their reputation and business activity and in support of their legal strategy.”
